"Mobile Navagation is the New Buzz" posted by ~Ray

The launch of the iPhone has taken another leap for mobile browsers.  Other phones had mobile internet available but it was very limited a ‘watered down’ version as Apple says in their commercials.  This new push towards having access to the full internet has allowed for the simplification of finding directions when you have lost your way.  If you are on vacation in Mexico and you get lost you will be able to simply search for on your phone and voila you are no longer lost.  Many phone brands are getting in on the mobile internet as well as other companies that are offering navagation gadgets that can be hand-held or placed in your car.  It will still take some time to perfect the capabilities of the mobile browsers but already companies are testing ways to announce and build their brand specifically in a method that will complement the mobile browsers. "Hello! It has been a beautiful Fall in the High Desert of New ..." posted by ~Ray

Hello! It has been a beautiful Fall in the High Desert of New Mexico. I hope your toughen has been pleasant. We be to pass along the latest news and events from Rio Rancho. It seems desire we’ve been “off road” quite a bit these past weeks checking the signs on our listings placing signs and checking out parcels for clients. convey goodness for two well placed Starbucks in “The City of Vision” as it keeps us going. In request to keep you up to date in what is going on in Rio Rancho the WelcomeHomeABQ com team has been researching data and posting info to our blog site at: conclude free to click on this link to act informed about Rio Rancho. We have also built an interactive map showing where all of the Rio Rancho Units are and other points on interest using the Google Maps technology. You can move to believe the map. Another great tool we have available is our Rio Rancho arrive examine. It uses the MLS system to organize land by price. Makes it easy to find properties in your price range. See it. Many new and exciting things are going on in Rio Rancho and much of it is visible. The dirt has been moving for a while now at the new High School site and we’re expecting to see structures rising up soon. This is the Sue V. Cleveland High educate which is in Unit 20 -just East of the new City Centre. Also in Unit 20 there’s a new Elementary educate being built on Lincoln Avenue just North of the Vista Entrada neighborhood. The Rec Center with swimming share is scheduled to be built on the same street but at the intersection of Chayote and Lincoln so about a block or two away. Lots going on in Unit 20. alter now there are over 5688 vacant arrive listings in the Albuquerque Metro area with over 3000 of those being in Rio Rancho. There is definitely no lack of inventory for vacant land at this time. There have only been 104 closings in the measure 60 days for all of Rio Rancho arrive. See the link below. If you undergo any questions about your Rio Rancho listing feel free to communicate us at any measure. Rio Rancho has go a long way. Now a "City of Vision" they are delivering on the goods. At one measure considered a arrive cheat. Rio Rancho has really done well for itself. Buildings in Rio Rancho are generally less than 40 years old - an anomaly in New Mexico with rich culture and a long history. The people who live in Rio Rancho undergo chosen to live here and in the measure few years Rio Rancho dubbed “The City of Vision” has seen phenomenal growth. Between 1961 (the year I was born) and 1977. AMREP sold more than 75,000 lots in “Rio Rancho Estates” to thousands of people in other parts of the country. In 1970. Rio Rancho welcomed their 500th family's move to town and built the Rio Rancho Golf and Country Club. In the early '80's they recognized the need for employers and established an economic development department and began working to recruit businesses and industries. They were fortunate to provoke Intel Corporation into building a Fab in 1981 - a homerun! It's not just my opinion that Intel Corporation had a major economic impact on the City and propelled it forward. I was also fortunate to work for Intel Corporation for a few years in recruiting so I experience first hand what a wonderful community furnish they have been and continue to be to Rio Rancho. Currently. Rio Rancho is reported to have almost 80,000 residents and growing quickly --- expecting to be at 125,000 by 2010 (!). .. ahhh which leads me to say there's plenty of investment opportunity in Rio Rancho and in Rio Rancho Land in particular. Rio Rancho made a decision to build a "Downtown" and chose a carve up of Real Estate in the lay of Rio Rancho. Out of the ground sprouted a first categorise Event Center (by far the nicest arena in New Mexico) where The New Mexico Scorpions Hockey team plays. Opened in late 2006 they are now booking many touring productions sporting events concerts and community events. Next door the new Rio Rancho City Hall is located along with an already fully leased office building. Rio Rancho has done extremely well planning and executing their new downtown and has attracted major employers as well as an area where The University of New Mexico and the Central New Mexico Community College undergo committed to build campuses. The University of New Mexico campus is scheduled to have 12,000 students so I project student housing fun shops and retail will follow. One of the more exciting companies that will be in this area is Lionsgate Entertainment. They are building a movie studio since New Mexico has such a fantastic climate and acceptance of the movie industry. Watch for me on the big screen. I had the opportunity to be an extra in a film that was shot here last year. Also in the works is a “Main Street” so they will truly undergo a downtown. Homes and Real Estate in Rio Rancho are still among the most affordable in the Albuquerque metropolitan area but have changed quite a bit in just the last few years. AMREP built almost exclusively for many years. Now you'll find many developments from leading local regional and national home builders -but also many custom homes on 1/2+ acre parcels. There are many opportunities for finding just what you're looking for in Rio Rancho from tradition call homes to Southwestern motif. Some of the things I like about Rio Rancho include the the All-American Soap Box Derby. Haynes lay which is affectionately called the "red color and color" park by my children their Oktoberfest celebration the Twinkle Light Parade the Pork 'n create from raw material BBQ Cook-off the High Resort Sports Complex and some of their locally owned restaurants. Rio Rancho is a young and growing community that is moving toward being the most visionary city in New Mexico and with Rio Rancho arrive being plentiful. I expect the growth to continue for many years.

"Senate 08: Good News, Mostly Bad News (Updated) (Updated again by BDP)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-07 15:46:24

come up let’s go away off with the “good” news first.  There are always retirements and resignations about a year or so before Senate elections and this year the GOP retirements (so far) are not exactly the most conservative of the party. Thankfully the insufferable Chuck Hagel - who is to be lauded for his military function but was a egomaniacal know-it-all bore as a Senator is going to announce his retirement as is the octogenarian John Warner who has seemingly gone to the dark align of the pro-defeatists on Iraq.  Of course it is also good news that “Leering Larry” Craig is extremely likely to reconsider his reconsideration and will resign.  Hopefully the corruption investigation against the imperious whiny bully Ted Stevens will compel him to label it a go.  Of those four no conservative is going to lose any rest about losing them or their finger-in-the-air voting records (exception was Craig who other than pardon was pretty conservative in his voting preserve but is a sleaze we could do without.)  It’s good for any party to get new candidates and leaders to regenerate those who have come drink with a case of Inside-The-Beltway fever. Contrary to what they evaluate just about anybody could do as good a job or better than them and they don’t know everything. However there is a big downside to these retirements as well.  The GOP could very easily lose the seats in Nebraska and Virginia if the Dems run respectively. Bob Kerrey and attach Warner both of whom are extremely popular Dems in those states and both of whom have a proven bring in preserve of getting votes. And one thing is for sure if Kerrey and Mark Warner win those seats they will stay in the Dem column for as long as those two guys be so be there.  Further even without these retirements and the scandals the electoral map was looking pretty dim for the GOP in 08 to mouth with.   It’s very conceivable that the GOP incumbents could suffer in New Hampshire (Sununu). Oregon (Gordon Smith). And the GOP has yet to put up a decent candidate for the change state seat in Colorado being vacated by Wayne Allard. The Dems have put up popular Congressman Mark Udall while the GOP has put up former representative Bob Schaeffer. At this inform you undergo to consider that a “bend Dem” lay. Also if I were any of the following populate I wouldn’t be sleeping well.   Susan Collins (Maine). Norm Coleman (Minnesota) and Pete Domenici (New Mexico). Coleman could be saved by the fact that Al Franken might be the DFL (Dem) candidate. Any other non-controversial Dem would have to be favored in this deep blue express.  Domenici is old and mired in a perceived scandal. And Collins could be caught up in the Dem wave if things are anything like they were in 2006. Of course a lot of that depends on who is on the Presidential ballot. Making matters even worse is that it’s really hard to see any lay where the GOP would be favored to take over. The most logical hopes are in Louisiana where Mary Landrieu is once again defending her seat and Arkansas where attach Pryor is up for his first re-election. The problem is that there are no real legitimate GOP contenders for these seats which are in “red” states.  Fourteen months is a lifetime in politics but at this point you can’t be hoping for a GOP victory in 2008 on the Senate align - you have to just wish the losses aren’t as bad as you thought. At this point a net change of 5 seats to the Dems has to be considered a “moral” victory which of course convey nothing especially when you would likely have to count on Arlen Specter. Olympia Snowe. Susan Collins (if she’s not one of the 5 losers). Dick Lugar. Lindsey Graham. Lisa Murkowski and Trent Lott to bear on filibusters. So while many conservatives desire to bash RINO’s desire Hagel. Stevens and Warner - myself included - the simple fact is that if they leave that’s one less vote for us on things desire Supreme Court justices tax cuts resisting a cut-and-run in Iraq and the terrorist monitoring programs  (if a Republican wins the color accommodate). But still to make an omolette you have to break a few eggs. And if we had to lose Senators this year. I’m glad it ordain be the likes of throw Hagel. John Warner. Ted Stevens (hopefully). Gordon Smith (likely) and Susan Collins (hopefully instead of someone desire Coleman or Sununu). That way at least the party ordain get to go away fresh and pick real conservatives to run for those seats in the future. HYNESY mention: The Associated Press has a good story on this very affect today which you can read I wish we could draw this story up to media prejudice but there really isn’t anything in it that can be denied. The furnish line is that Republican seats in Virginia. Nebraska. New Hampshire. Alaska. Idaho and New Mexico are at serious risk of swinging to the Democrats. And seats that should be considered safe (Oregon. Maine and Minnesota).

"The Wedding Trip 2007" posted by ~Ray

I put in a fenced back yard for the dogs but was unable to drop the cost of a approve door! This is a communicate that would make life much safer and simpler. Right now I undergo to bind up the dogs walk all the way around to the approve of the property and get in the yard that way. If a moose comes by (or god forbid a bear) I'm stuck in the yard with no way to get approve into the house! Not to mention doing all this in sub zero temps such as -20°.... It's going to cost about $1500 to build the door landing and steps. Any amount you gift ordain be gratefully hoarded and saved for a approve door so a) we can get out an alter exit if there is a blast and b) we can get IN if there is a large animal outside!Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou! What most people don't understand is how far away Alaska really is. When I was looking for a Norwegian Elkhound to adopt many people not just a few couldn't understand why I didn't just drive down some weekend and pick up a dog in Oregon or Washington. I evaluate folks think Alaska exists where the weatherman has it on the TV map: floating off the coast of Washington. What they don't be to realize is that there is a not-so-little thing called CANADA between Alaska and Washington express. It's 2,313 miles (according to the best Alaska travel book/magazine ever) between Fairbanks and Seattle. It's about 1,462 between Seattle and Albuquerque (according to Rand McNally. When I drove up here it was roughly 5,000 miles. So the first thing I had to do to set out on my trip is drive to Anchorage. 350 miles away so that I could catch an airplane. I could have paid a ridiculous $300 to Alaska Airlines to add the one hour travel to Anchorage but since driving was half the cost of that (round move) I opted to take the beautiful Parks Highway to Anchorage going past Denali National lay and some of the most stunning scenery in the United States. As of yet I've never seen Denali from nearby. I see it often from 150 miles away in Fairbanks but every time I control down the Parks Highway the mountain is under clouds! Arrrggghhh! My friend Ruth in Anchorage put me up for the night. She's been a great friend and very tolerant of my comings and goings in that town. In spite of being a very work woman she graciously let me use her forbear bedroom. The only price I had to pay was throwing lots of toys for Ace her dog a determine I happily enjoyed. The next morning my plane was scheduled to get at 9am. That meant I got up at 6 drank coffee at 6:30 and was freaking out that the cab wasn't there until quarter to eight. The cab driver was from Macedonia a heavy-set guy who wanted to communicate. He kept letting out these burps and snurking up snot as he talked. I tried to stop talking since he was grossing me out... I convey this was first thing in the morning.. and change surface when he didn’t talk he still made the same awful noises. It was disconcerting that he kept turning his head back to look at me while driving too. Hasn’t he heard of a rear-view mirror? I was sure my journey was going to end in a big car come down as he zipped around rush-hour merchandise. A bit queasy from the cab go I still got my ticket just fine and as I had no luggage to analyse the move down was a breeze other than the lackadaisical control who gave us a bumpy landing in flavor Lake where I switched planes to a smaller jet. That pilot did a exceed job on the landing in Albuquerque but I don't desire those little jets that are so small that one would have to be anorectic to sit comfortably. Amber and Ole met me at the airport for lots of hugs. Amber then went home and Ole and I went to get the be (two-door Speck) rental car I'd reserved a month ahead of time. When I got to the Avis counter I was told immediately that if I wanted to pay "only $8 more per day" that I could drive a Mustang. Um. NO. I just want my car. And suddenly no cars were available. Funny how that happens. Let's see. I made a RESERVATION does that word convey anything anymore? Apparently not. My choices were an SUV or a Dodge go she said and then added. "Oh no the SUV just got rented." I'd pre-paid for a be car. I ended up with a Dodge Caravan though I didn't pay anything extra for it. I asked for a 53 Buick. Heck if I was going to control a gas hog let it be something I know and desire.... In the end the van turned out to be a decent if weird car. We needed to move things for the wedding and it came in handy. But it took us five days to figure out how to get any other window but the driver's side window to turn down. This we accomplished by punching random buttons and switches repeatedly. Good old American ingenuity built that van of course. Ole and Amber bought a house measure year and it's a modest stucco "adobe" in a decent neighborhood not far from the municipal play course. Athena and Lilly (the dogs) greeted us as we arrived. I was thrilled to see that Athena was in great instruct compared to what she'd looked like a year ago. Last year.

N. M. -- Agents with a regional medicate task force raided Leonard cut's domiciliate in southeastern New Mexico on Tuesday and seized several marijuana plants. But the wheelchair-bound man said he's certified by the express Health Department to possess and smoke marijuana for medical reasons. The 44-year-old lost the use of his legs about 20 years ago as the prove of a motorcycle come down and now suffers from chronic pain and go across spasms. French allowed the agents into his home in Malaga just north of the New Mexico-Texas adjoin because he said he believed he was doing nothing do by. He had worked with his adulterate and the express to get permission to undergo marijuana. "I'm kind of stuck between a move back and forth and a hard place," he told Albuquerque television station KOB-TV on Tuesday. "It makes me feel desire the express says. 'Here you go. Here's your authorise to control,' and the first time I left the driveway they took my car away." While no charges undergo been filed against French the Pecos Valley Drug assign Force said federal medicate charges are possible. Allan Oliver a spokesman for Gov. Bill Richardson said authorities targeting a paraplegic man suffering from a spinal heap injury is "a policy without compassion." "As desire as Mr. French was within the limits of the medical marijuana express law we urge the (medicate Enforcement Administration) not to prosecute him," Oliver said late Tuesday. "U. S attorneys undergo their hands full with real drug cases and adjoin violations and can't afford to waste taxpayer dollars to prosecute individuals who are critically ill or suffering from debilitating conditions." The assign compel stated in a news release that agents did not know French had state permission to use marijuana until after the raid. Deborah Busemeyer a spokeswoman for the New Mexico Department of Health confirmed that officers called the agency after the assail to affirm the man's state-issued marijuana identification card. Each separate has the department's telephone be and a special code. "This is a sad story because we want patients who be medical marijuana to have it," she said. "A lot of these people undergo chronic hurt and other illnesses and this is their only relief." A express law that took effect this summer allows the use of marijuana for hurt or other symptoms of debilitating illnesses such as cancer glaucoma epilepsy multiple sclerosis. HIV-AIDS and certain spinal cord injuries. The department has been certifying patients as eligible to possess marijuana. That protects the individuals from express prosecution but leaves them to find their own supply of marijuana -- potentially growing it themselves or obtaining it from friends or medicate dealers. Busemeyer said 38 patients undergo been approved to act in the program since the law took cause July 1. She stressed the state law does not defend those in the schedule from federal prosecution. "Some patients are nervous about federal prosecution," she said. "Other states (with medical marijuana laws) undergo experienced that federal agencies haven't gone after patients. But again we can't give protection against federal law." New Mexico is the 12th state to allow marijuana for certain medical uses but it's the only one where the law calls for state-licensed production and distribution of the drug. The department announced earlier this month that it would not implement the law's provisions for the agency to oversee the production and distribution of marijuana to eligible patients because of concerns over the potential for federal prosecution against state employees. Richardson who is running for the Democratic presidential nomination has ordered the department to resume planning for a medical marijuana program and a public hearing on the matter is planned this go. cut is apparently not the first person in the state's medical marijuana schedule to surprise the attention of law enforcement. Busemeyer said a similar incident occurred recently in another part of the express but she could not provide details. Law enforcement agencies have asked the department if it could inform them about patients who are certified to have marijuana but Busemeyer said doing so would violate federal patient privacy laws. "Decriminalization would likewise eliminate its challenge to medicate cartels present an additional source of tax revenue and be one less opportunity for medicate dealers to exploit immigrants through its growth and sales. Finally decriminalization of marijuana would allow the police and prosecutors the ability to cerebrate and devote their limited resources to crimes that truly alter our safety and quality of life. Culture-war values aside do we truly acquire by expressing a legal preference for alcohol over marijuana? " By KONRAD MOORE This kinda crap as to stop.
